“Tokyo Pride” is the new name for the annual LGBTQ+ event formerly known as “Tokyo Rainbow Pride”, which was traditionally held every April. Now taking place in June to align with global Pride Month, Tokyo Pride has embraced an intersectional approach and is evolving into a platform to spotlight diverse human rights issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community.
